We would like to bring our Golden Doodle with us. Do you allow pets?

Your well-behaved, friendly dog is welcome to stay at Sonenalp with prior approval and a fee. Please contact us for approval in advance as a part of your reservation.

We comply with ADA requirements regarding Service Animals. A service animal is one which is trained to do specific work or perform a specific task for the benefit of an individual with a disability. Your service animal is welcome at any time but we do need to be notified in advance.

Pets which provide emotional support, well being, comfort or companionship are not recognized as service animals under ADA guidance and must be hosted under our pet policy.

House Rules for Pet and Service animals:

  • As per ADA guidance, Service Animals may not be left alone in the condo at any time. Please keep your SA under your direct control at all times.
  • If you leave your pet alone in the condo, please plan to kennel them for their safety, safety of maintenance staff, and to avoid unintentional damage.
  • Please do not allow your pet on the furniture in any of our homes.
  • Please be aware of local risks to your pet/SA such as wildlife and pests. All pets and service animals who visit Sonenalp must be treated for fleas and ticks.
  • Please be sure that your pet or SA is supervised in common areas including the foyers, garage and shared balcony.
  • Please be respectful of our neighbors and clean up after your pet or service animal. Leaving waste, even in bags, can attract bears. Please keep our property clean and safe by disposing waste.
  • Please be aware of Mammoth Lakes laws, ordinances and rules regarding animals in town, on the mountain and on public transport.
  • Pet fee is $200.

We are travelling with children and need to check in early. How do we arrange early check in?

We would love to offer flexible check in/out times but there are many factors out of our control like timely check in/out of other guests, required repairs, maintenance staffing and cleaning crew availability. Please contact us at least one day in advance if you would like to request a special check in or out time. We will do our best to accommodate your needs but, particularly when we have back-to-back guests, it may not be possible.

We are all driving separately. How many parking spaces are available?

Each condo has 2 designated parking spaces in our spacious garage. In addition, there are two first come, first served spaces for guests. Please do not park in the driveway due to the risk of falling ice and snow in winter and need to access the dumpster in summer. Street parking is available along Lakeview (daytime only). Some overnight parking may be available at Canyon Lodge. Please check signs as Mammoth does sometimes tow illegally parked vehicles.

Will our lifted truck fit in your garage?

Garage clearance is 8 feet.

We are considering renting two condos together for a family reunion. How close are the units located to each other?

Sonenalp at Canyon Lodge has 4 total units, 2 on each floor. The condos all share a central stairwell and foyer area.

If you need 6 bedrooms, we suggest that you rent an entire floor of the building, which is 2 condos, connected by the central stairwell/foyer and a private back balcony. With the entire floor of the building you will have 6 beds, 6 baths, 2 private North facing balconies, 1 expansive back balcony that houses the grill, sauna and hot tub.

We also offer 9 (3 condo) and 12 bedroom (4 condos/entire building) options for large groups.

We're so bummed that both your condos are booked for our dates. Do you have any other properties?

Please email me at or through the contact form below and we will do our best to help you find accommodations. It is not uncommon for us to take bookings 6-9 months in advance so please do let us know as soon as you have firm dates for travel.

How does check in work? Do we have to go somewhere to get keys?

You won't need to go anywhere to pick up or drop off keys. Approximately 3 days prior to your check in you will receive the password for the check-in portion of the Guest Guide (under Guest Guide links above) . Just arrive at the condo and use the info from the Guest Guide to access the lock code for your condo. If you need help with access or information at any time, don't hesitate to contact Mary Beth 702-423-2371.

Now that pot is legal in California, you allow smoking, right?

Thanks for your question. The Sonenalp HOA does not allow smoking or vaping in our building, in the condos, or on our grounds. Smoking and vaping are prohibited on Sonenalp property including the balconies and garden.

Is your property handicapped accessible or appropriate for people with limited mobility?

The good news is that the interior of our condos could work well for people with limited mobility. Each condo has all the bedrooms and living spaces on a single floor, unlike many homes in Mammoth which have interior stairs.

The issue is that there are stairs leading to the building itself. From the driveway or the garage, there is a full flight of stairs. The building does not have an elevator. To enter or exit the building, you must climb at least 1 set of stairs.

How close is Sonenalp to the ski lift? to The Village? to Town?

We are located on the mountain, very close to Canyon Lodge (200 yards). We are about 3/4 mile to The Village and less than 2 miles to "town" amenities like Post Office, Fire Station, etc. We are 2.5 miles to Vons Grocery.

We are less than 50 feet from 2 trolley stops, stop #74 and #75.
